A half day excursion to the Uros reed islands

Departure 09.00.
The Uros islands are floating islands made out of reed in the bay of Puno. On the islands live indians who try to sell their handicrafts. Their children go to school on the islands and there is also a medical post.
You will be picked up from your hotel at about 9.00. and taken to the port of Puno where a motorized boat will be waiting for you to take you to the islands which are about 40 minutes away. At the moment there are about 40 islands of which you will visit about three. There is also the opportunity to join a ride on an original reed boat.
A half day excursion to Sillustani
Duration: 03 Hrs.
Departure at 14.30.
You will be picked up from your hotel at about 14.30 hrs and the journey to the site takes about 45 minutes. The Chullpas were built by the Aymara-speaking Collas - a tribe that dominated the Titicaca region before the Incas. Each tower contained the remains of a Colla nobility accompanied by their riches. and although grave robbers have since removed their contents the towers are still well preserved. We spend about an hour and a half to two hours at the site and you will be back in your hotel late afternoon.
A full day excursion to Taquile and Uros islands
Duration: Full Day.
Departure 09.00.
The island of Taquile is about 45 kilometers away from Puno and it takes about 3 hours by boat to get there. The islanders are native Quechua speaking indians and have a communal life style. They still maintain most of the old traditions of the Inca days. On the island are Inca ruins and lots of Inca terraces.
The island is famous for its high quality handicraft.
On route we have a stop at the Uros islands.
A two day excursion to Taquile and Amantani islands
Duration: 2 Days.
(This excursions includes a night on the island in the house of a native)
